                           DIAGNOSED WITH SKET DANCE FEVER!

I don't really know how many of this world's population have been curious about manga trends and anime. but i know I've been seriously effected by it since the past 5 months. I've been regularly tuning into animax every single night just to watch SKET DANCE. yeah, it's sometimes a pain, when you either have to follow the English subtitles or you have to just simply close your ears and look at them talking in a language you can never decipher. But whatever it may be, i love it!

By this time i must have been successful in making you scratch your head in confusion as to what this whole thing is all about. right?

What's in the story?

Well to be honest as passionate as i sound, I've missed a whole lot of episodes. I've started watching it right from season 2. and have at least been able to decipher something or the other about the character's and their respective stories. I guess by the time you'll be done reading this blog, you'll surely be dying to catch a glimpse of this anime. don't worry i'll give the link's below.

S.K.E.T

SKET. it's a high school organisation formed by three friends. Fujisaki yusuke A.K.A Bossun ( you can just call him poop man if you wish to), Switch and Onihime Himekochan (you may call her lady gangster as well).

This club is like those stupid student council's we all have in colleges who promise to help us solve problems. but when we need them they're not available. anyway's good for the students of kamei high school, they have the SKET DANCE club with them.

but don't be fooled. SKET DANCE is not just a foolish mix of words. it has a meaning.

So now you know the meaning of it, oh and the weird face in the middle, it's poop man, a cartoon character Bossun absolutely adores :)

MAIN CHARACTERS AND THEIR STORIES:

Fujisaki Yusuke(Bossun):

Adorable isn't he? The main character of the story bossun. As adorable as he seem's he's pretty perverted. you can compare him to those weird extrovert guy's at school who always followed you around. 

BACK-STORY

On his fifteenth birthday, Yūsuke discovered that he was not truly related to his mother, Akane, and his sister,Rumi. His biological parents were Akane's close friendsHaru and Ryōsuke, who were both involved in separate car-related accidents on the day of his birth. His mother died shortly after he and his twin brother Sasuke were born, and his father died to save a child in the street.

Not certain how to handle this new information and the idea that he was utterly without blood relatives, Yūsuke ran away from home and wandered around aimlessly. After meeting Taisuke, who had been the child his father saved, Yūsuke received the present that Ryōsuke had meant to give to Haru after the birth. The letter inside, written to the then-unborn children, talked about how they should help other people. However, angry that his father's mentality had resulted in the man's death, Yūsuke flung down the letters and claimed that he would only live for himself. After watching some upperclassmen bully a student his age, he discovered that he had truly inherited his parents' blood because he couldn't resist stepping in to help (the student was later revealed asTsubaki) - though he ended up being beaten himself. Later, after having accepted his circumstances, he returned home and continued to live with Akane and Rumi, stating that they are the only family he has ever known.

Bossun is particularly know for his enthusiasm in helping others, and he is quite optimistic and righteous. Bossun will do anything to get the request done and right, even if it causes him humiliation and embarrassment. Despite that he is weak and cries easily, he will fight to protect his friends from danger.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

• Concentration Mode: Bossun is able to utilize an extraordinary level of perception when he equips his goggles and mentally recalls relevant facts to the problem at hand. His perceptiveness is so keen that he can even make out distant sounds in the background of a phone call. This level of concentration also makes him an excellent shot with thepachinko ball slingshot he uses as a weapon. After using this ability, he often ends up taking deep breaths like a diver resurfacing.
• Artistic Talent: He is, comically, an extraordinary artist - both in 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional form, as evidenced by his stints making origami and figurines. His fellow club members have joked that his artistic talent is a strange one for a manga protagonist.
• Vocal/Facial Impressions: He is able to do spot-on impressions of various characters and Japanese celebrities, such as comedian Rakutarō Sanyūtei and baseball player Eiji Bandō.            

  RELATIONSHIPS

  • 
    Himeko: His relationship with Himeko is complicated - they aren't lovers, but undeniably more than friends. In the 'School Trip Rhapsody' arc, Bossun even says himself that he has never thought about his feelings towards Himeko, though he later said "until now". At one point, when he suspects that Himeko is dating Katō, he becomes irritated whenever he sees them together. He is like his father who referred to Haru as a friend. In one scene where Yusuke talks to Chuma about Remi's love, he thinks back to Himeko and him sleeping in the futon together. And in the Trouble Travel arc where Himeko was captured, he noticed that everytime Himeko was in danger, he'd always lose his "cool" and went berserk though he did not yet realize anything at that time. In other hand, as noted by Switch, Bossun and Himeko are unseparated bokke and tsukkomi partner.
  • Roman Saotome: Due to her Otome Filter, Roman falls in love with Bossun from first sight without actually knowing it was him. After Bossun saves her from being hit by a truck, Roman is forever smitten by Bossun who she calls, "my prince."
  • Saaya Agata: At first, Saaya abuses Bossun verbally due to her inability to deal with boys. Bossun helps Saaya out with her tsundere problem, and during this time, she begins developing romantic feelings for him. Bossun remains oblivious to Saaya until the School Trip Rhapsody arc, and when Himeko asked him of what he thought of Saaya, he said that she was only just a friend to him. Though, she eventually confessed to him, but Bossun is not interested in a romance.

  
  

  Sasuke Tsubaki: They view each other as rivals and end up fighting or arguing whenever they meet. Despite this, they do have some brotherly moments and, as others have noted, they are actually more alike than they'd admit. Since discovering their relationship as twins, they are more apt to asking each other for advice or assistance, but they usually require a push from their respective club/council members.                                      

 Phew! that was a lot about bossun, let's get to the rest now.                                          

HIMEKO ONIZUKA:

Hime Onizuka (鬼塚 一愛), or Himeko (ヒメコ), as she is more commonly called, is a member of the Sket Dan who wields a field hockey stick and has a love for Pelollipop Candy.                                     Hime grew up in Osaka and started playing field hockey in primary school, continuing through junior high. When she was 14, her family moved to Tokyo due to her father's job and Hime found herself alienated from the classmates at her new school. This led her to feel uncomfortable and purposefully isolate herself. When she joined the school's field hockey team, she met with opposition from its regular players but also encounteredArisa, who became her first friend at the new school. Thanks to Arisa's presence and effect on her, Hime opened up to her classmates and found them opening up to her as well. One day, she saw Arisa leaving with a group of delinquents and began to fear that her friend was being threatened. These suspicions were further confirmed when she saw Arisa handing an envelope of money to the delinquents' leader, Kyōko.

When confronted, Arisa first claimed that nothing was happening but Hime persisted - declaring that Arisa's kindness and femininity could be perceived as weak, and thus that she would protect her. Arisa broke into tears, saying that Kyōko had told her to come that evening with a large sum of money. That night, Hime went with Arisa and withstood Kyōko's beating to ensure her friend's safety. However, when the envelope Arisa had given fell from Kyōko's pocket during the fight, Hime noticed that it had been labeled with Kyōko's first name, implying a sense of familiarity. She realized that Arisa wasn't being bullied or threatened at all, and Kyōko declared that Arisa had been paying her group to act as bodyguards. Hime couldn't understand the turn of events, and her friend explained. Arisa had been bullied in the younger grades and didn't want to stand out, so the safest place to be was right behind the strongest person in school. Being a victim was only an act so people wouldn't realize the truth. Arisa then snapped at Hime for having called her weak and Hime's emotions boiled over. Using her field hockey stick, she severely beat the group of delinquents, like a demon. The story of the fight spread quickly and once again Hime found herself isolated - but this time, feared as well. Other groups started targeting her to fight, but she beat each one. Eventually, she became known as a legend: the demon princess "Onihime."

In her final year of junior high, Hime decided to apply to a high school far enough away that no one would know of the name "Onihime." After enrolling in Kaimei High School, she kept to herself and firmly held the belief that she didn't need friends. The rumors of the "Onihime" had reached even there, and she decided not to stand out and to complete her school years without fuss. Yet after an amazing throw during a fitness test, she was approached by her class representative, Chiaki, to join the softball team. Despite Hime's efforts to remain isolated, Chiaki persisted in trying to draw her out of her shell. Soon, she found herself with a second attachment, a classmate named Yūsuke, who noticed when she accidentally brought her old Poppman cap to school one day. The more Chiaki and Yūsuke persisted in being her friend, the more Hime grew used to their presence.

When Chiaki was threatened by two men who claimed she had dented their car with a baseball, Hime ultimately came to her rescue. However, her weapon broke and it was only Yūsuke's timely arrival which prevented the two girls from meeting a horrible fate. Once freed, Hime easily defeated the men who then recognized her as the "Onihime." Certain her new friends would abandon her upon finding out, Hime prepared herself to be alone again, but Chiaki and Yūsuke refused to leave her alone. The latter then asked her to form a campus support group with him, declaring that he needed her strength. Having finally found a place where she was accepted, Hime was able to cry for the first time in years.

                                                                                      

Despite being naturally aggressive and a little cranky, Himeko tries to maintain as positive as Bossun, even if sometimes she doesn't succeed. Anyway, she has a good sense of humor before losing the patience, which, indeed, is little. Hime tends to be violent when something goes wrong and, indeed, in many cases the violence is her first choice to fix the problems. She is a good cook as Bossun and Switch finds out during the Gachinko Vivage Battle arc ^[1].

Anyway, Himeko has a good heart and, like her companions of Sket-dan, is determined to do whatever it takes to help other people. It also appears that takes more seriously the everyday affairs, or at least more than Bossun and Switch.

Hime is loyal and admires Bossun, although she often hits or rebukes him. This is because she feels that she owes him much. Himeko is rude, but feels a special affection for the little and "cute" things, and sometimes her maternal instinct comes out easily. By being originally from Osaka, Hime uses some different words or phrases to other characters, although this is only noticeable in a few jokes or situations.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

• Superhuman Strength: Himeko is extraordinarily strong, having no difficulty wielding a field hockey stick like a baseball bat. Combined with her fighting skills, this makes her a deadly opponent which earned her the title "Onihime"
• Killer Comebacks: She is known to have ‘killer’ comebacks when she talks to the Bossun and Switch, another evidence is when they have a request to accompany some Yabasawa and Seiji through group dates. Though, because of this she could not relax in the group dates and even made comebacks from what she said on her own.

RELATIONSHIPS

• 
  Bossun: Her relationship with Bossun is complicated - they aren't lovers, but undeniably more than friends. She feels gratitude and respect toward him and wants to be useful to him, but it is also strongly implied that she has romantic feelings for him. However, she is either unaware of them herself or is purposefully pretending they don't exist. When Switch makes a mind reading device, they all agree to mention who they like. Himeko gets very nervous and denies she likes anybody in her head but keeps thinking about Bossun, which the machine reads her mind and she is thinking about "red horned hairy caterpillar". During the school trip, she is concerned how Bossun felt about her. She seems nervous of what happens when Saaya fully confesses with Bossun. In another scene, she gets nervous and thinking about Bossun when she is out buying chocolate, though she did add "...and Switch!" seeming shy and denying the fact she likes him.^[10] After Bossun saves her from the kidnapper, Himeko is like about to confess, if just Switch didn't come. On other hand, as noted by Switch, Himeko and Bossun are unseparated tsukkomi and bokke partner.^[11]
• Switch: She and Switch are close friends, but she is willing to make jokes about him. It is not known how much they know of each other's past, but they both know that Bossun saved them. And they both a strong bond with him as a result. She and Switch are often teasing Bossun like when Bossun shrunken to small.
• Kiri Kato: She and Kiri have many things in common, and sees her past self in Kiri and tries to help him make friends. She respects his fighting skill. Kiri himself 'respects' Himeko due to Himeko's (as Onihime) help in the past.
• Jin Kakiuchi: Jin falls in love with Himeko in the first sight. After he 'investigates' about Himeko and Bossun's relationship, he realized that he won't be able to interfere between them, but he stated that he won't give up on Himeko.

In other word's Himeko is just not like your average girl next door with a hockey stick. I think i may have a girl crush on her :D

KAZUYOSHI USUI (SWITCH):

he's probably one one the most handsomest charecter and i have this huge crush on him, you can say he's the main reason why i watch sket dance :p nah!

KAZUYOSHI AND HIS BROTHER MASAFUMI, WHO WAS ONLY A YEAR YOUNGER, HAD GROWN UP ALONGSIDE THEIR CHILDHOOD FRIEND SAWA. IN HIS FRESHMAN YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL, KAZUYOSHI REALLY STARTED TO FEEL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIS BROTHER'S SCIENTIFIC INTELLECT AND ELECTRONICS SKILLS AND HIS OWN. WHEN SAWA RECEIVED A DEATH THREAT IN THE MAIL AFTER HAVING BEEN PLAGUED BY A STALKER, SHE TURNED TO THE BROTHERS FOR ADVICE AND KAZUYOSHI ENDED UP FRUSTRATED THAT MASAFUMI'S KNOWLEDGE UNDERMINED HIS OWN SUGGESTIONS. COMING TO THE CONCLUSION THAT HE WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO PROTECT HER, AND THAT HIS BROTHER WAS BETTER THAN HIM WHERE IT COUNTED, HE REFUSED TO ACCOMPANY SAWA IN BUYING SELF-PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. HIS EXPLOSION RESULTED IN MASAFUMI ACCOMPANYING HER INSTEAD, WHILE KAZUYOSHI MUSED IN HIS ROOM.

WHILE THE TWO WERE OUT, SAWA'S FRIEND YUKINO STOPPED BY AND TOLD KAZUYOSHI WHAT SHE HAD LEARNED ABOUT THE BOY STALKING SAWA. EVIDENTLY, HE HAD STABBED A CLASSMATE BACK IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND STILL CARRIED A KNIFE WITH HIM WHEREVER HE WENT. KAZUYOSHI CALLED HIS BROTHER TO INFORM AND WARN HIM AND SAWA OF THE POTENTIAL THREAT, AND WHEN YUKINO VOICED HER SURPRISE AT SAWA'S COMPANION, KAZUYOSHI STATED THAT IT WAS MASAFUMI AND SAWA WHO WERE DATING, NOT HIM. AS HE WAS TURNING TO GO, YUKINO SPOTTED SAWA'S STALKER AND KAZUYOSHI PROCEEDED TO CHASE HIM DOWN. THE BOY, SHINJI, ENDED UP SIMPLY BEING AN ANXIOUS ADMIRER WITH A CRUSH - BUT FROM HIM, KAZUYOSHI LEARNED THE TRUTH BEHIND THE MIDDLE SCHOOL STABBING STORY. THE ONE WHO HAD REALLY STABBED A STUDENT HAD BEEN YUKINO, WHO COULD GROW VIOLENT WHEN BEGRUDGED. AS SHE AND SHINJI HAD BEEN DATING BEFORE HE FELL FOR SAWA, KAZUYOSHI REALIZED WHO YUKINO WAS TARGETING AND HURRIED TO JOIN HIS BROTHER AND FRIEND.

HOWEVER, HE ARRIVED AT THE SCENE ONLY TO FIND HIS BROTHER BEING WHEELED INTO AN AMBULANCE, AND ULTIMATELY DYING AS A RESULT OF A STAB WOUND TO THE CHEST, PARTICULARLY NEAR THE HEART (IN THE ANIME, HE WAS STABBED AT THE BACK). ONCE KAZUYOSHI LEARNED THAT YUKINO HAD STABBED MASAFUMI BECAUSE OF A MISTAKEN BELIEF THAT HE WAS SAWA'S BOYFRIEND, HE BLAMED HIMSELF ENTIRELY FOR HIS BROTHER'S DEATH. HE DESPAIRED, NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW HE COULD BE ALIVE WHEN HIS BROTHER, WHO HAD HAD ALL THE POTENTIAL AND TALENT, WAS DEAD. SO HE CUT HIS HAIR, STYLED IT LIKE HIS BROTHER'S AND STARTED WEARING HIS BROTHER'S OLD GLASSES WITH THE LENSES REMOVED OUT OF A DESPERATE NEED FOR SOME TRACE OF MASAFUMI TO REMAIN IN THE WORLD.

WHEN HE RETURNED TO SCHOOL, KAZUYOSHI WANTED PEOPLE TO CALL HIM "SWITCH" - HIS BROTHER'S OLD NICKNAME, AND AFTER A WHILE HE STOPPED ATTENDING UPON THINKING HOW POINTLESS HIS ROUTINE HAD BECOME. WITHDRAWING INTO HIMSELF, HE STOPPED TALKING AND BECAME A HIKIKOMORI. IT WAS BOSSUN WHO DREW HIM OUT OF HIS MISERY AND PUT HIM BACK ON HIS FEET.

IN A PAST, HE WAS QUITE LAID BACK AND DEVOTED TO PROTECTING SAWA AND HIS YOUNGER BROTHER. HE'S CALM AND A PERFECT FIGURE OF AN OLDER BROTHER FOR MASAFUMI. SWITCH BEGAN TO ENVY MASAFUMI AS HE CREATED SOMETHING BY HIMSELF AND IMPRESSED SAWA. AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS BROTHER, HE TRIED TO COME TO SCHOOL BUT HE FELT HURT, SO HISHOMEROOM TEACHER TOLD HIM TO NOT COME TO SCHOOL WHEN HE DOESN'T FEEL STRONG ENOUGH.

AFTER RECOVERED FROM SHUT-IN PROBLEMS DUE TO HIS DARK PAST AND PRIOR GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL, HE IS CALM, RESERVED, AND STOIC, RARELY SHOWING ANY EMOTION. HE HAS A DEADPAN SENSE OF HUMOR AND SEEMS TO ENJOY TEASING OTHERS. BECAUSE HE ALWAYS COMMUNICATES THROUGH SPEECH SYNTHESIS SOFTWARE AND HAS A TENDENCY TO JOKE WITH A STRAIGHT FACE, IT IS DIFFICULT TO TELL WHAT HE IS REALLY THINKING. WHILE HE USUALLY "SPEAKS" WITHOUT MUCH EMOTION, HE WOULD SOMETIMES PURPOSELY RAISE HIS "VOICE" TO ABNORMALLY HIGH LEVELS FOR COMIC RELIEF. HE OFTEN BECOMES VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT ANIME AND OFTEN PROVIDES A VERY DETAILED AND HILARIOUSLY IN DEPTH COMMENTARY ON THE VARIOUS ANIMES FEATURED IN THE SERIES.

AT THE END OF THE SERIES, HE IS FINALLY FULLY RECOVERED.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

• ELECTRONIC MASTER: WITH HIS LAPTOP, HE IS SHOWN TO DO MULTIPLE THINGS IN AN EASY WAY AND IN SWIFT MOTION LIKE THE FOLLOWING:
  • TONE CHANGER: SWITCH IS SHOWN TO BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE TONE OF THE VOICE IN HIS SPEECH SYNTHESIS SOFTWARE INTO DIFFERENT TONES HE LIKES. THERE ARE MULTIPLE TIMES HE USES THIS, AND HE SOMETIMES USES IT TO HIS ADVANTAGE AND USES IT FOR MIMICRY.
  • DATABASE OF INFORMATION: HE IS KNOWN TO HAVE LOTS OF INFORMATION THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE SCHOOL AND THOSE WHO ARE IN IT. HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HIME’S FULL NAME, HEIGHT AND WEIGHT TO HER FRUSTRATION. HE ALSO HAS LOTS OF INFORMATION OF ANIME AND MANGA’S, THOUGH HE DENIES OF BEING AN ‘OTAKU’.
• SKILLED INVENTOR: HE HAS A LARGE TALENT FOR ‘CRAZY’ INVENTIONS, THOUGH HIS OBSESSION FOR THIS HAS ROOTED FROM THE DEATH OF HIS YOUNGER BROTHER, THOUGH EVEN BEFORE, HE STILL KNOWS HOW TO CREATE INVENTIONS.

RELATIONSHIPS

• YUUSUKE "BOSSUN" FUJISAKI: MUCH LIKE HIMEKO, SWITCH FEELS THAT HE OWES BOSSUN A GREAT DEBT FOR HAVING SAVED HIM. DESPITE HIS QUIRKS, HE IS JUST AS LOYAL TO BOSSUN AS SHE IS. THOUGH BOSSUN IS NOT A HEAVY OTAKU LIKE SWITCH, THEY OFTEN TALKING ABOUT TONKUSATSU AND LEND ANIME DVDS TO EACH OTHER.
• MASAFUMI USUI: MASAFUMI WAS SWITCH'S YOUNGER BROTHER AND THE ORIGINAL 'SWITCH'. SWITCH (KAZUYOSHI) INTRODUCED MASAFUMI TO THE COMPUTER AND SOON MASAFUMI SURPASSED HIM, CATCHING THE ATTENTION OF THEIR CHILDHOOD FRIEND, SAWA. SWITCH HAD FEELINGS FOR SAWA BUT IN OTHER HAND, HE ALSO ADMIRED MASAFUMI. AFTER MASAFUMI'S DEATH FROM A TRAGIC ACCIDENT, SWITCH BLAMED HIMSELF AND BECAME WITHDRAWN, CHANGED HIS APPEARANCE TO LOOK LIKE MASAFUMI AND REFUSED TO SPEAK, A TRIBUTE TO HIS BROTHER.
• SAWA YAMAUCHI: SAWA IS SWITCH AND MASAFUMI (FORMER SWITCH)'S CHILDHOOD FRIENDS. BEFORE MOVING OUT,: SWITCH TELLS HER THAT HE LOVED HER AND SHE REPLIES "ME TOO".
• MOMOKA KIBITSU: MOMOKA IS HINTED TO HAVE FEELINGS FOR SWITCH. WHEN MOMOKA ASKS SWITCH WHY HE HAS VISITED ALL OF HER CONCERTS, SWITCH REPLIES VIA SKETCHBOOK TO SUPPORT HER. MOMOKA THINKS IT A LIE. ONVALENTINE'S DAY, MOMOKA GIVES SWITCH A HONMEI CHOCO . SHE THANKS HIM FOR ALWAYS SUPPORTING HER, BUT HE POINTS OUT THAT ALL OF HER FANS HAVE SUPPORTED HER, TOO. SHE ASKS IF SWITCH LIKES ANYONE OR HAS ANY INTEREST IN GETTING A GIRLFRIEND BUT HE ANSWERS THAT HE WILL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN AS HE RECALLS HIS FINAL GOODBYE WITH SAWA. AFTER FULLY RECOVERED FROM THE PAST HE WAS HAUNTED BY, AND AFTER GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL, SWITCH DECIDE TO KEEP MOVING FORWARD AND ACCEPT MOMOKA'S FEELING AS THEY STARTING ON A DATE AFTERWARDS.
• REIKO YUUKI: REIKO AND SWITCH ARE RIVALS. REIKO IS AN OCCULT BELIEVER, CONTRADICTING SWITCH'S BELIEF IN SCIENCE. REIKO OFTEN VISITS SKET-DAN TO CHALLENGE SWITCH EVEN THOUGH SHE OFTEN GETS PROVEN WRONG. SWITCH SEEMS TO BE UNFRIGHTENED BY REIKO'S SCREAMING AND CREEPY ANTICS. HOWEVER, SWITCH DOES HELP HER, LIKE MAKING HER BEAUTIFUL IN FRONT OF THE GUY SHE ONCE HAD A CRUSH ON AND GIVE REIKO THE PROOF ABOUT THE FORTUNE TELLER'S TRICKS

GOSH! THAT WAS A LOT, SO I HOPE AFTER GETTING A HINT OF WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT, I'M SURE YOU'LL BE EXITED TO KNOW MORE AND WATCH THEM.
